Not speculation but investingIt is very important that people wishing to execute currency transactions have a clear perception of significant difference between speculation and investing. Currency trading represents a speculative activity by its nature. Foreign exchange markets are the most volatile markets in the world. When margin trading is used at the markets, they can not help but become very unstable.
Intraday trading can be extremely profitable, and the risk of major market participants can make a huge percentage of income for them even for a day. However, from the intellectual and psychological point of view the intraday trading is not an easy job and not everyone can deal with it. In fact, the intraday trading is a speculation, and intraday traders do the only thing: participate in the intraday trading. However, many people making currency exchange transactions are not professional intraday traders Often people using brokers’ services are professionals in one or another field. These people do not participate in intraday trading but only occasionally open one or another position. This is also speculation and it should not be confused with investing. As a conclusion, it can be stated that the nature of currency trading is that it is not so much linked to the investing but mostly to the speculation and hedging (hedging is used with forward instruments). In some way, it is possible to invest into the currency for long-term prospects, but this would require a huge amount of money in the account and low ratio of borrowed assets to own. |
